Dr. Rabiaah’ Bhatia – Aspire to Inspire

  • Kindly brief us in short about you and your journey since the beginning of your career.

Life is full of challenges, the more challenges, the stronger you become and change your perspective towards Life. This is how and why I started my journey of professional life. The journey of my career started from a simple BPO customer care executive, then a Manager in the Banking sector which took me to a position that I could never dreamt of as an HR and PR Head in the Marketing and Consulting firm with stakeholders in the Hospitality Industry. Having spent 24 years as a working professional, I have had an enriching experience of working on and understanding varied industries.

After working with almost all sectors, there was no mental peace and inner satisfaction. I stopped myself and took a break from my work for 2 years. There was a 360degree turnaround in my vision because of this one thought to have a purposeful life, due to which I joined the education sector in 2015 with a mission of touching, and nurturing millions and millions of lives and raising them to be the leaders who can make this world a better place to live in and then started my entrepreneurial Journey in 2017.

  • Being in the industry for a long time, enlighten us with the educational scenario of your country and the ever-changing education sector.

In recent times, education has seen a significant revolution. Classrooms have been replaced by a virtual facilitator (it might be your PC, laptop, or even your tablet). After independence, the changing scenario of education and literacy has caused a rapid rise in the number of students. The government of India is putting a lot of effort to improve the education scenario in India. The literacy rate in India was 18.3% in 1950-51, and it jumped to74.04% in 2010-11. It is a significant achievement of the government to see a massive jump in literacy. The government is trying to improve the education system so that the people’s standard of living could also be enhanced as well as other goals like eradication of poverty, unemployment, and social equality could be achieved.

  • Who has most influenced you to become an educator/administrator, and how did they influence you?

My Mentor Dr Daisaku Ikeda says, Education must inspire the faith that each of us has both the power and the responsibility to effect positive change on a global scale. Education should not be based on or limited by a nationalist agenda. Education must cultivate the wisdom to reject and resist violence in all its forms. And this influenced me the most o become an Educator.

He emphasizes that effective teaching must be based on the understanding that every child is unique, and that children’s talents, paths, and purposes are many and diverse.

  • What are your professional goals for the next 5-10 years?

My vision & mission is to opening children’s eyes to the wonder of the world around them and to their role as guardians of their environment. As an Academician I am using my skills for the sake of the improvement of society as well as to make each person understand that their happiness lies in their own hands. As a leader, I believe in fostering every child, every human being in a free and unconstrained atmosphere. It is important to make sure that they feel relaxed and don’t overdo it. We want to cultivate them to be self-motivated and independent. Let us try not to raise them into perfect bonsai trees, but rather strong towering that grow freely in nature, deeply rooted in the earth and reaching for the sky. The task of education must be to stimulate and unleash the wisdom that lies dormant in the lives of all young people.

  • What message would you like to portray the student across universally?

My message to youth is that I believe in Try, Try, Try until you Succeed! Without a doubt each person has an innate talent. The question is: How do you discover that talent? The only way is to exert yourself in whatever is before you. Your true potential will emerge when you give everything you’ve got to your studies, sports, extracurricular activities, entrepreneurship or whatever you are engaged in. The important thing is that you get into the habit of challenging yourself to the limit and never give up.
