Well-Being of Students: The Primary Goal
Student well-being has been an integral focus of life within St. Philip School. Student well-being requires an established, respectful, and caring atmosphere where children feel emotionally safe. Teachers remain with the same group of children, fostering powerful and trust-based associations.
The psychopedagogist at the school can offer support to staff and families as well. Routines, shared activities, and play activities can also allow students to learn self-regulation, socialization skills, as well as self-regulation skills. Safety training and preparation for emergencies can always promote security at all levels.
Creativity and Critical Thinking in Action
Creativity and Problem-Solving: The curriculum is infused with creativity and problem-solving through various workshops and activities. The students get to do cooking, watercolor painting, manipulation, 3D crafts, and small technical projects.
Bilingual drama experiences are particularly valuable in establishing communication skills, teamwork, and confidence. Every year, there is a celebration of creativity through an end-of-year exhibition and bilingual performances, in which students can demonstrate their learning outcomes in the form of performances or designing.
Technology in Thoughtful Use
However, There is meaningful and balanced integration with technology. There is the use of interactive whiteboards in the primary classrooms that aid in effective learning in both Italian and English. There is training for the teachers in ICT with the objective of using ICT for the relevant learning goals.
The students employ technology for the purposes of carrying out research, collaborating, and creative endeavors, but this is supplementary and not substitutive. Its significance lies in the fact that it prepares students for a technology-driven world.
The Future Ahead
“The vision for the future is to strengthen our bilingual, inquiry-based educational model and our commitment to teacher development and research-based pedagogy,” explains Bishop Borg Colaresi. “Projects include upgrades to our lab environments, the integration of more technology, and the continued development of our intercultural programs.”
