Founded on the mission and values of the United Nations, the United Nations International School (UNIS) in New York City stands as a global model of academic excellence and intercultural understanding. Committed to intellectual challenge, ethical leadership, and global awareness, UNIS inspires students to become empathetic citizens who act with integrity and purpose in an interconnected world.

Learning with a Global Purpose

The UNIS philosophy is grounded in its commitment to connect learning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These goals serve as a meaningful framework through which students explore issues that affect the world today—such as sustainability, equity, and peace. By engaging in inquiry-based learning, students connect classroom knowledge to global challenges and develop the motivation to make a positive impact on society.

As one of the founding members of the International Baccalaureate (IB), UNIS blends the IB’s rigorous, inquiry-based curriculum with its mission of global citizenship. From early years through graduation, students collaborate on research projects and community initiatives that promote critical thinking, creativity, and social responsibility. Through the combination of IB and SDG frameworks, UNIS graduates emerge as intellectually capable, socially aware, and ethically grounded individuals.

Celebrating Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB)

At UNIS, diversity is not just reflected—it is embraced as the school’s greatest strength. With students and staff representing more than 100 nationalities, cultural richness is woven into the fabric of daily life.

Throughout the year, the school celebrates multiple Language Days—such as Spanish, Arabic, and French—each highlighting the languages, music, literature, and traditions of its global community. These events foster empathy, respect, and a sense of shared humanity among students.

Beyond cultural celebrations, UNIS’s DEIB initiatives drive meaningful inclusion and equity across all areas of school life. Through open dialogue, professional development, and student-led initiatives, UNIS ensures every voice is heard and valued. The school’s approach goes beyond representation—it aims for belonging, where each member of the community feels empowered to contribute authentically.

This ongoing commitment reflects the very essence of the UN mission: nurturing understanding and peace through education.

Learning Beyond the Classroom

One of UNIS’s defining features is its close collaboration with the United Nations. Every year, UN Day transforms the school into a vibrant hub of global engagement through performances, workshops, and dialogues with diplomats and UN leaders—including the Deputy Secretary-General. These interactions give students firsthand insight into diplomacy, global problem-solving, and international cooperation.

UNIS further amplifies this experience through its student-led UNIS-UN Conference, held annually at UN Headquarters. The conference brings together young delegates from around the world to debate pressing global issues and propose solutions—with themes changing each year; for instance, the 2024 conference focused on Artificial Intelligence.

Similarly, the Model United Nations (MUN) program gives students the opportunity to refine public speaking and negotiation skills while exploring global perspectives. Together, these programs embody the UNIS vision—learning that extends beyond the classroom into meaningful global action.

Support for Every Student

Understanding that every learner is unique, UNIS offers a robust support system, including English Language Learning (ELL) programs, individualized academic assistance, and culturally responsive instruction. These ensure that students of all backgrounds thrive both academically and socially.

Well-being lies at the heart of UNIS’s philosophy. Each student is assigned a counselor, and teachers collaborate closely with psychologists to provide comprehensive academic and emotional support. Guided by Executive Director Dr. Dan Brenner—a former psychologist and superintendent—UNIS blends curiosity, rigor, and compassion to create an environment that fosters both intellectual and emotional growth.

Technology, Innovation, and Global Connection

Technology at UNIS is a tool for empowerment, not distraction. Students use Chromebooks and MacBooks to research, collaborate, and create, developing strong digital literacy and ethical awareness.

The UNIS AI Conference encourages students to examine artificial intelligence within a responsible, ethical framework. Meanwhile, the Pathways Project—where UNIS students teach coding to peers in Nigeria—extends beyond programming to include mentorship and support for participants pursuing their GED equivalency, illustrating how technology can foster real social change.

Through such initiatives, UNIS ensures that technology serves humanity, inspiring students to innovate with purpose and empathy.

Fostering Creativity, Critical Thinking, and Action

UNIS’s Project-Based Learning (PBL) approach encourages students to apply theory to practice, solving real-world problems collaboratively. These projects strengthen creativity, teamwork, and communication—skills essential for the 21st century.

The school also nurtures student leadership through service-learning opportunities, awareness campaigns, and community initiatives. By engaging in purposeful action, students develop civic responsibility and a lifelong commitment to positive change.

Well-being and Experiential Learning

Social-emotional learning and mindfulness practices are integral to the UNIS experience, helping students balance academic growth with emotional wellness.

Experiential learning also plays a key role. Through international travel experiences, students immerse themselves in the language, culture, and history of the countries they visit—strengthening global awareness rather than participating in formal study-abroad programs. These experiences build empathy, adaptability, and confidence, bridging the gap between theory and real-world understanding.

Vision for the Future

UNIS remains steadfast in its purpose: education for peace and global understanding. The school continues to expand innovation in personalized learning, translanguaging, and research-based instruction, ensuring education remains relevant in a rapidly changing world.

By encouraging students to draw upon all their linguistic and cultural resources, translanguaging promotes true inclusivity and connection. Meanwhile, the school’s continued refinement of project-based and interdisciplinary learning ensures that students leave UNIS as critical thinkers, compassionate leaders, and globally minded citizens.

Grounded in the ideals of the United Nations, UNIS continues to inspire generations of learners to combine knowledge with empathy and action—to make the world a more just and peaceful place.

Polka Dot Preschool: Shaping Young Minds with Love, Learning, and Community

Location –  271 Centre St, Thornhill, ON L4J 1G5, Canada

From the day it opened in 2016, Polka Dot Preschool has evolved from just a daycare facility into a thriving community where children are treated like gold, families are put at ease, and they learn something new every day. Founded out of necessity to create a safe, healthy, and loving environment, the school has earned a strong reputation for assisting children to develop physically, emotionally, socially, artistically, and intellectually.

Its foundation, Polka Dot Preschool is an unwavering conviction that by surrounding young children with warmth, respect, and encouragement, they grow in confidence and competence toward success for a lifetime. Accompanying this is an educated team of highly trained Registered Early Childhood Educators (ECEs) and tireless support staff ensuring the school is a long-time partner for families for close to a decade.

A Legacy of Care and Excellence

What started as a grassroots effort is today one of the region’s favorite preschools. Since its opening day, Polka Dot has been honored with many awards for its loving programs, highest-ranked care, and early education prowess.

Families remain with the school for generations, being great friends with other parents and friends of staff for many years. With staff turnover extremely low, children have a chance to be there a long time and enjoy long-term relationships so vital to their stability and development.

All aspects of Polka Dot are geared to pay notice—be it the love-cooked lunches prepared with care and love, the cozy and welcoming facilities, or the green havens where kids play and learn. These factors provide a setting where children don’t just go to school; they are home.

A Safe and Nurturing Environment

Safety and comfort are foundations of the Polka Dot experience. Classrooms are carefully planned, structured, and filled with engaging activities. Staff exploratory support is balanced by structure and safety so that children are encouraged but feel comfortable to learn at their own pace.

Family involvement is the other core feature. The school actively involves parents with ongoing feedback, open communications, and ongoing support. Through such a family-school partnership, Polka Dot fosters a learning environment where children feel loved for who they are.

A Unique Teaching Philosophy

Polka Dot Preschool espouses a philosophy that balances play learning with structured education. Its teachers prepare engaging, relevant, and developmentally appropriate activities that promote progress in every realm—social, emotional, physical, and academic.

The uniqueness of the school is that it is holistic in nature: children, family, and teachers are believed to be included in the learning process as collaborators. The collaboration also helps in creating a climate of trust and belongingness where all can grow. Parent-centered activities also foster this, therefore ensuring the families become strongly affiliated to the child’s learning process.

Balancing Technology and Tradition

Technology is a resource in the hi-tech, contemporary world—and in Polka Dot, it is used wisely and judiciously. Kids learn from learning games and creative computer projects that are fun and reinforce their learning, but hands-on projects, interactive play, and exploratory discovery are prioritized. This way, kids gain valuable 21st-century skills without sacrificing interactive, hands-on learning of yesteryear.

The Power of Outdoor Learning

Outdoor play is more than a play break in the open space of the great outdoors at Polka Dot Preschool—it’s part of the curriculum. The school has a large outdoor playground that is an energetic hub of activity where kids develop motor skills, determination, and self-esteem through climbing, running, and team games.

Just down the road, a peaceful pond offers children chances to watch animals and learn in authentic, outdoor-based ways. Daily nature walks through a nearby heritage area further engage their sense of wonder and foster appreciation for nature.

Incorporating nature into the learning experience, Polka Dot enables children to develop a lifelong relationship with nature as they promote physical, social, emotional, and mental development.

Embracing Diversity and Inclusion

Polka Dot Preschool is committed to being an environment where all people feel valued and respected. The diversity of all students and staff is not only recognized but also celebrated. The school encourages this sense of inclusiveness through multicultural tales, activities, and festivals, whereby differences are seen as a way of learning.

This commitment to diversity readies children to enjoy the richness of diversity of cultures and to develop the empathy and respect they will need to succeed in a world society.

Parents as Partners

Polka Dot understands that successful children value high-quality family engagement. Parents remain actively engaged through:

  • Daily Updates through an easy-to-use app
  • Direct contact with the teacher during drop-off and pick-up
  • Parent-teacher interviews and curriculum nights
  • Special events and classroom activity participation

With such a lively cooperation, parents are not passive observers but active participants in the learning and development of the child.

Special Programs and Enrichment

In addition to its strong daily curriculum, Polka Dot Preschool also offers an array of special programs aimed at enhancing the learning experience. Kids can engage in music and movement classes, sports and gym class, animal exhibits, and magic shows, all of which are intended to encourage imagination and create excitement.

The school also prepares activities to suit every child’s individual interests, which results in enjoyment and motivation. The Kindergarten curriculum has a French language program to introduce children to multilingual studies when they are still young.

Extracurricular activities are more than simply improving learning; they also provide children with opportunities to explore new skills and areas of interest.

Future Growth and Vision

Moving forward, Polka Dot Preschool continues to advance and innovate. Future plans involve increasing staff training, the introduction of innovative teaching strategies, and facility improvements in order to address changing family demands.

The school is also committed to strengthening family relationships, making sure that parents remain at the center of learning. By remaining faithful to mission and embracing innovation, Polka Dot is poised to serve generations to come with the same care, quality, and commitment it has remained in its legacy since 2016.

Conclusion

Polka Dot Preschool is not just a preschool, it’s a community constructed on love, trust, and learning. Award-winning programs, veteran teachers, and a philosophy that celebrates diversity, nature, and family involvement have established an early childhood model of education that instills the whole child.

From the warm classrooms to the busy outdoor spaces, every corner of Polka Dot has been created to make children feel special, confident, and ready to take over the world. For parents looking for an environment where children can really learn, grow, and flourish, Polka Dot Preschool is a model of what early childhood education can be and ought to be.

Grace Christian Montessori School: Heart, Mind, and Purpose

Location – 601 Newpark Blvd, Newmarket, ON L3X 2S2, Canada

Website – https://www.nordangliaeducation.com/sta-bangkok

Contact – +1 905-895-6666

At the center of Newmarket stands Grace Christian Montessori School (GCMS), the very first IEYC (International Early Years Curriculum) school in Canada, an icon of integral education where faith, wisdom, and love meet to mold leaders of tomorrow. Driven by the Montessori method and grounded on Christian values, the school offers a top-notch early childhood education that is specifically tailored to foster academic scholarship, spiritual development, and empathy.

From the time it was founded, GCMS has remained committed to its mission: to launch up responsible, caring, and spirit-led men and women who live out Christ’s love and serve the world. Every child is regarded as a unique masterpiece of God—talented and blessed with undiscovered abilities, accolades, and education.

A Foundation Built on Faith and Excellence

GCMS has been a vibrant Christ-centered community since its founding, encouraging children to find, ask, and flourish through intentional learning. Its active campus is the testament to this purpose in expansive classrooms promoting teamwork, the Good Shepherd Library that inspires a passion for learning, and a STEAM Lab inspiring curiosity and imagination.

Outside is a living classroom, the Garden of Eden, where students discover and learn nature and stewardship through experience and contemplation. Every corner of the campus is designed to serve intellectual development as much as spiritual development in equal measure.

Unique Holistic Education

It is the unique blend of the International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC) and a solid Christian education that differentiates GCMS from all the other preschools and early learning centers. The convergence of the two promotes not just academic success, but also moral and spiritual growth—enabling children to lead with compassion, kindness, and respect.

The gifted program of the school is yet another attribute of its distinction. Since gifted students need to be given special mental challenges, GCMS uses differentiated instruction and enrichment activities that foster thinking and creativity. The learning experience of every child is designed based on his/her strength in order to facilitate curiosity and meaningful engagement.

A Safe and Nurturing Environment

Creating a warm, secure atmosphere is the philosophy that underlies GCMS. The school has a well-established system of safety to facilitate safe entry and an emotionally nurturing atmosphere in which all children are loved and accepted. Teachers, following child protection and emotional well-being training, have close interaction with the children in order to establish trust and confidence.

The focus on feeling good enables children to discover and learn since they realize they are in a place where they are priority regarding their happiness and security. The caring strategy provides them with a lifetime passion for learning from trusting and believing in themselves.

Teaching with Purpose and Inquiry

Education at GCMS is question-driven and engaging. Montessori-infused philosophy promotes student autonomy in learning through discovery and exploration. Incorporating Christian learning into everyday lessons, students are given a sense of purpose and ethics.

Teachers are not lecturers but mentors who instill responsibility, curiosity, and independence. Through stories, scripture, and service projects, children don’t just learn about God’s word but live it—exercising love, leading others, and serving communities.

Technology That Augments, Not Replaces

Embracing the growing role of technology in education, GCMS integrates technology into learning in moderation and purpose. The STEAM curriculum introduces students to age-appropriate technology that promotes creativity, design thinking, and innovation, but keeps a strong emphasis on hands-on, experiential learning.

This thoughtful blend of technology ensures it complements—not substitutes—for the hands-on, interactive, and relationship-rich experience critical to early learning. Kids become reflective, productive collaborators, and confident adaptors in today’s rapidly changing digital world.

Learning Beyond Walls: The Gift of Nature

Learning outside the classroom at Grace Christian Montessori School is just as important as learning in the classroom. The Garden of Eden, a central part of the campus, gives children the chance to plant, observe, and nurture living organisms—to teach them about not only environmentalism but also thankfulness for creation.

Nature walks, gardening projects, and play outside are physically healthy for kids, but they also keep students’ sense of awe, accountability, and appreciation for God’s world alive. These experiences remind kids that learning is happening all around them—in, out, and in the heart.

Diversity, Inclusion, and Global Awareness

Resonating with its Christian faith of love and acceptance, GCMS promotes diversity and inclusivity in all its levels. Its curriculum incorporates multicultural understandings that instill respect for differences and an appreciation of the beauty of God’s creation in all shapes and forms.

Empathy and understanding being inculcated, the school prepares the children to approach the larger world in a positive sense. Every child is taught to appreciate their own individuality while embracing others warmly, kindly, and with understanding.

Parents as Partners in Growth

Learning at GCMS is a partnership. Open communication, conferences, and workshops are used by the school to encourage active parental participation to further the home-school partnership. Parents are encouraged to participate in class activities and events, establishing a sense of cooperation and unity.

This open-door policy not only deepens trust but also strengthens the shared mission of constructing the child’s growth in body, mind, and spirit. Parents and teachers come together as an unifying care community committed to each child’s growth.

Enrichment Through Special Programs

Outside of the classroom, GCMS has enriching programs that enrich students’ lives and their education. The Long Mandarin After School Program encourages bilingualism and cross-cultural awareness where children can develop communications in an international community.

Activities such as after-school art class, nature club, and community service instill creativity, collaboration, and compassion. These activities adhere to the school’s belief that learning should develop the whole child—giving them knowledge, character, and purpose.

Vision for the Future

In the future, Grace Christian Montessori School continues its work of growth on the basis of faith. It is planning to add facilities to meet growing enrollment, investing in staff professional growth, and the initiation of programs in gifted education and inclusion.

The school also works on building stronger community connections, providing a support system that enables student and family involvement as well as student achievement. Through collaboration and innovation, GCMS will remain a school in which children are motivated to achieve their God-created potential.

Conclusion

Grace Christian Montessori School is not just a school but rather a community where they raise their children, where they learn, become smarter, more devoted, and kinder. With International Early Years Curriculum and Montessori philosophy and values of Christianity, GCMS possesses an education that disciplines the mind, nurtures the spirit, and inspires loving leadership.

In each classroom and garden path, a profound yet simple truth appears: every child is a God-created masterpiece capable of learning, loving, and leading with grace.

Shrewsbury International School Bangkok City Campus: Nurturing Curiosity, Confidence, and Global Awareness

Location –  982 Rim Klong Samsen Road (Rama 9), Bang Kapi, Huai Khwang, Bangkok 10310 Thailand

Shrewsbury International School Bangkok City Campus has built its identity around a simple but powerful belief: children learn best when they are curious, inspired, and surrounded by a supportive community. From Early Years to Primary, the school offers a learning environment that blends creativity with academic rigor, giving students the freedom to explore while guiding them with strong educational foundations.

A Learning Experience Built on Inquiry and Imagination

Innovation at Shrewsbury City Campus begins with a deep respect for how children naturally learn. Classrooms buzz with questions, hands-on projects, and meaningful discussions as teachers adopt inquiry-based and project-led approaches throughout the school.

In the Early Years, Reggio Emilia–inspired spaces encourage children to investigate, wonder, and make sense of the world around them. As they move into Primary, this spirit of exploration continues—only now supported by more structured academic learning. Subjects are often linked through thematic projects and real-world problem-solving, helping children understand not just what they’re learning, but why it matters.

The result is a learning journey where creativity and academic excellence work hand in hand.

An Inclusive Community Rooted in Shared Values

With families representing more than 30 nationalities, cultural diversity isn’t just welcomed at Shrewsbury—it’s woven into daily life. Global perspectives are integrated into the curriculum, while celebrations of cultural festivals help children appreciate different traditions and stories.

A cornerstone of the school’s inclusive environment is the Value of the Month programme. Each month, students explore ideas such as empathy, respect, courage, kindness, and compassion. These values come to life through assemblies, classroom activities, and community events, allowing children to connect personal growth with real-life experiences.

In a world where understanding and openness matter more than ever, Shrewsbury’s approach ensures students grow into thoughtful, globally minded young people.

Partnerships That Enrich Learning Beyond the Classroom

Shrewsbury City Campus is deeply connected to the wider community. Collaborations with universities, cultural institutions, early childhood specialists, and professional organisations strengthen the school’s teaching practices and provide fresh learning opportunities.

The school’s Lecture Series—featuring paediatricians, child development experts, and specialists from leading hospitals and education centres—helps parents feel informed and supported as they guide their child’s development.

Students also take part in community outreach through partner charities such as SOS Thailand, Second Chance Bangkok, Meechai Bamboo School, and SafeChild Thailand. These experiences build empathy and social responsibility while showing children the impact they can have on the world around them.

And as part of the wider Shrewsbury family, strong ties with the Riverside Campus support a seamless transition into secondary school, ensuring continuity and confidence as children advance to the next stage of their education.

Communication That Builds Trust and Partnership

Shrewsbury places great emphasis on open, honest communication with families. Parents receive regular updates through newsletters, digital platforms, and teacher correspondence. The school’s Tea & Topics sessions, Parents in Partnership meetings, and Parent-Teacher Conferences create space for dialogue, collaboration, and shared understanding.

The leadership team remains highly accessible, engaging with families through community events and open-door opportunities. This close-knit partnership between home and school is one of the reasons families feel so deeply connected to the Shrewsbury community.

Supporting Every Child, Every Step of the Way

No two children learn in exactly the same way—and Shrewsbury’s teachers know this well. Through ongoing observation and assessment, staff tailor lessons to meet each child’s strengths and needs. Differentiated activities ensure every learner is appropriately stretched and supported.

The EAL (English as an Additional Language) team works closely with class teachers to help students develop English proficiency without losing access to mainstream learning. Meanwhile, the SEND team provides specialist guidance for students with additional learning needs, ensuring they grow with confidence and independence.

This thoughtful, inclusive approach ensures every child feels capable, understood, and valued.

Well-Being at the Heart of School Life

Shrewsbury City Campus understands that a child’s happiness and emotional health are essential to academic success. Well-being is embedded throughout the curriculum and supported by a strong pastoral team, including the school counsellor and trained staff members.

Students learn to recognise and express emotions, build resilience, and develop coping strategies through structured lessons and everyday interactions. Outdoor play, mindfulness practices, and warm relationships with staff help children feel grounded and supported.

Encouraging Creativity, Critical Thinking, and Problem-Solving

Creativity is not treated as an add-on at Shrewsbury—it is foundational. The Early Years Atelier, inspired by Reggio Emilia philosophy, offers a dedicated space for exploration with materials, ideas, and artistic expression.

In the Primary School, Shrewsbury is proud to be Thailand’s first school to adapt the Design Engineer Construct (DEC) curriculum for younger learners—a programme typically reserved for older students. Through DEC, children engage in digital modelling, design thinking, and sustainable engineering concepts that challenge them to think logically, work collaboratively, and create solutions with real-world relevance.

These initiatives empower students to become imaginative thinkers and confident problem-solvers.

Purposeful Use of Technology

Technology at Shrewsbury is introduced with clear intention—to enhance learning rather than simply modernise it. Interactive screens, age-appropriate digital tools, coding, robotics, multimedia work, and digital storytelling experiences deepen student engagement and raise new possibilities for creativity.

Digital citizenship is emphasised across all year levels, helping students learn to use technology responsibly, safely, and respectfully.

A Vision for Continued Growth

Looking ahead, Shrewsbury Bangkok City Campus is expanding its enrichment programmes in the arts, music, and design—areas in which students already excel. Sustainability and outdoor learning are becoming even more central to the curriculum as the school helps children build a meaningful relationship with the natural world.

The Hanqing Bilingual Pathway (HQP) represents a major milestone in Shrewsbury’s future vision, offering equal emphasis on Mandarin and English while following the British curriculum. Designed for non-native Mandarin learners, HQP nurtures bilingual confidence, cultural understanding, and global competence from an early age.

As the school continues to evolve, its mission remains clear: to cultivate young learners who are curious, compassionate, and ready to make a positive impact in an interconnected world.

Rugby School Thailand: Shaping Confident Learners and Compassionate Leaders

Spread across 80 acres of peaceful countryside in Chonburi, Rugby School Thailand (RST) has quickly become one of the region’s most distinctive and forward-thinking international schools. Though still young compared to its historic sister school in the UK, RST has carved out an impressive identity of its own—one built on academic ambition, global diversity, and a genuine commitment to educating the whole child.

With more than 45 nationalities represented on campus and a curriculum grounded in British academic tradition, the school offers students a rare combination: the rigour of a world-class education delivered within a warm, nurturing, community-driven environment. Principal Bruce Grindlay explains, “We want to improve the outcome of every individual. For us, it’s not just where a student begins or ends—it’s the distance they travel.”

Teaching That Inspires Curiosity

Innovation at Rugby School Thailand doesn’t sit on the surface; it’s built deeply into the way teaching happens every day. Students’ progress is carefully tracked using Cambridge CEM standardised testing across the entire school, giving teachers clear insight into individual development and enabling timely support where needed.

Teachers also benefit from Tom Sherrington’s WalkThrus coaching model—an approach widely respected for improving pedagogy and consistency. Language learning receives equal attention. Through a two-year partnership with Oxford Brookes University, teachers have embraced multilingualism and translanguaging, helping learners strengthen both English and their home languages in meaningful ways.

The early years are joyful and hands-on. Pre-Prep children build literacy through Jolly Phonics while the EYFS curriculum emphasises learning through play. Across the school, the ethos remains the same: encourage children to think for themselves, take intellectual risks, and engage deeply with what they study.

A School Where Diversity Becomes Community

With families and staff arriving from all over the world, cultural diversity is woven naturally into daily life at RST. Rather than simply acknowledging backgrounds, the school celebrates them. International Day is a highlight every year, and students regularly participate in events connected to major festivals such as Songkran, Eid, Christmas, Loy Krathong, Easter, Ramadan, and Diwali.

Inclusivity is more than cultural—it’s embedded in school policies and structures. Uniform choices and language guidelines are intentionally non-binary, and the school’s “Whole Me” programme teaches every child the values of kindness, respect, and tolerance.

One of the strongest pillars of belonging is the house system, which will soon span every one of the school’s 15 age groups. “A house becomes a family within the school,” Mr. Grindlay notes. “It creates friendships across ages and gives each student a sense of identity and home.”

Partnerships That Open Real-World Doors

Rugby School Thailand’s network of partnerships is one of its standout strengths. Students benefit from collaborations with the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, ABRSM, and LAMDA, and gain access to a wide range of academic pathways through exam boards including Pearson Edexcel, Cambridge Assessment, and Oxford AQA.

The school also maintains a strong presence in professional associations such as ISQM, BSO, COBIS, FOBISIA, EDT and ISAT—ensuring its practices remain benchmarked against global standards.

Beyond academics, RST connects students with real-world industries. The school collaborates with WisdomSports Academy on athletics, while major companies along Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridor—BMW, Samsung, Mitsubishi, Triumph and others—provide mentorship and corporate partnerships. Local hospitals and law firms offer work experience, and a formal partnership with Burapha University supports training and opportunities in sports coaching. These relationships give students more than exposure—they help them understand what their futures could look like.

Supporting Every Learner

RST’s approach to support is both structured and empathetic. A Director of Language Strategy ensures that multilingual learners receive consistent and research-driven support. New teachers complete bespoke EAL training, and student progress is tracked through the school’s WalkThrus teaching and learning focus.

Support for Learning departments work across different age groups, offering assessments, in-class support, small-group intervention, or one-to-one lessons depending on individual needs. At every step, the goal is to help students feel capable and confident without overwhelming them.

The pastoral system is equally robust. With a teacher-to-student ratio of roughly 1:10, academic and personal wellbeing are closely monitored. Tutors and Heads of Year work closely with students, ensuring that academic expectations remain high but achievable.

Mental health is openly supported through school counsellors, student-led initiatives, clubs, and frequent open-door times for children to talk with trusted staff members.

Creativity, Thinking, and the Power of Ideas

Academics are only part of the story at Rugby School Thailand. The school places enormous emphasis on helping young people become thoughtful, articulate, and imaginative.

In the Sixth Form, the “Ask Better Questions” programme teaches critical thinking and problem-solving. Harkness Sessions introduce students to round-table discussion and persuasive dialogue, while Model United Nations and debating societies encourage them to explore complex issues with confidence. Many take on the A Level Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), producing ambitious independent research.

Creative expression flourishes through the school’s impressive Music and Drama departments, and Art, Design and Technology remain central to campus life, with students frequently showcasing inventive work.

Technology That Enhances Learning

RST integrates technology in a strategic, age-appropriate way. Coding begins early, and students up to Year 6 receive individual iPads. From Year 7 onward, a BYOD system makes digital learning flexible and familiar.

For older students, Gemini AI is introduced thoughtfully for research and learning support, helping them develop modern digital literacy skills. A student-led Tech Team adds another layer of engagement, giving young tech enthusiasts a space to lead and collaborate.

A Bold Vision for the Future

Rugby School Thailand is not standing still. A 750-seat professional auditorium will open in 2026, elevating Drama and Music programmes and providing a venue for major events. A new gym—complete with potential climbing walls and golf simulators—will broaden sports opportunities, while the Forest School programme in Pre-Prep immerses young learners in outdoor discovery.

A parallel EAL stream for Years 7–9 will soon offer accelerated English instruction without isolating students from mainstream school life. Exchange programmes with Rugby UK and Rugby School Japan are expanding, and Sunday Thai @ RST will launch in 2026 for families wishing to strengthen Thai reading and writing skills.

The forthcoming LIFE programme (Leadership Is For Life), running from Nursery to Year 13, will embed leadership development across the school.

Rugby School Thailand is a place where students are encouraged to aim high, think deeply, and discover who they want to become. With ambitious projects underway and a clear commitment to whole-child development, the school continues to shape young people who will approach the future with confidence, purpose, and joy.
